Pick your own
On arrival you will be guided through the orchard to the freshest, ripest cherries. It doesn't get any better then picking it straight from the tree. We can provide a demonstration on how to select and pick the cherries and answer any questions you may have about our orchard and our produce. Once you have finished picking, your fruit is weighed and packaged for you ready to take home.

What do I need to know before I come?
  • Fruit is available seasonally. Not all fruit we grow will be available at all times of the year.
  • Fruit availability in season can change on a day to day basis. Where fruit quantity is limited it is first in, first served.
  • Please check our opening hours. Visitors will not be able to access the orchard outside these times.
  • Look at the weather forecast for Orange. Remember the weather at our farm may be different to where you live.
  • Wear suitable clothing and footwear. Closed in shoes are recommended.
  • Bring a hat, water bottle and suncream.
  • Strictly NO pets
  • We are a smoke free environment. NO smoking is allowed in the orchard or sheds.
  • The ground can be uneven in the orchard. Care must be taken to look where you are walking.
  • Climbing in trees is not permitted
  • Prams are allowed in the orchard, but may be difficult to push due to uneven surfaces.
  • Bags, prams, containers etc must be presented to be checked by staff on exiting the orchard.
  • Entry to the orchard is at our discretion. Visitors no complying to entry conditions may be asked to leave.
  • Bookings are required for groups over 20 people.

What is the price to PYO?
We do not have an entry fee.
Sweet cherries $8 to pick your own
Sour cherries $10 to pick your own
Other fruit $5kg to pick your own
(excludes figs)

This is a working farm and therefore there are hazards.
Please be aware of:
  • Uneven ground surfaces
  • Risk of eye injury from sticks and branches
  • Tripping, slipping and over reaching
  • Insects, birds and/or animals
  • Chemical hazards
  • Machinery 
Familiarise your with all signs and pick your own instructions provided by staff.
Children under 18 must be fully supervised AT ALL TIMES.
What other fruit can I pick now?
Thornbrook Orchard is mostly a PYO cherry orchard so other fruits are not always available. 
If you would like to pick apricots, peaches, nectarines, boysenberries, blackberries, plums, figs, pears and apples you wont miss out.
